This video illustrates the different hydrothermal communities found at 3500 m depth on the Snake Pit vent field including swarms of the shrimp Rimicaris exoculata found in the hottest habitats, in the vicinity of black smokers, assemblages of the mussels Bathymodiolus puteoserpentis on the Elan sulfide structure in low-temperature habitats and a new assemblage of small Peltospira smaragdina gastropods, also associated to high temperature habitats. Video sequences were acquired during the BICOSE2 cruise (2018) with the HOV Nautile.
